Music Monday: Pomplamoose

I first heard Pomplamoose when I listened to their cover of Lady Gaga's Telephone. I love their quirky indie take on popular music and classics. A band, and real life couple, whose presence is mostly online, I was surprised to see them and hear them in some new holiday car commercials. But pleasantly surprised. Nataly Dawn's sweet vocals combined with Jack Conte's (and her) multi-instrumental talent make the group's lovely sound. They also have a distinct style in their YouTube videos, showing the recording process weaved together. From Wikipedia: "Their videos mostly take the form of "VideoSongs", a medium Jack Conte defines with two rules: What you see is what you hear. (No lip-syncing for instruments or voice) If you hear it, at some point you see it. (No hidden sounds)"

Nataly moved to France at the age of 10 and speaks French. Watch and listen to their cover of La Vie en Rose.

Beautiful cover of Mister Sandman.

And a little holiday spirit.

You can get their Christmas album here, with the donation of a book. I sent New Moon, because I think every public school should have the Twilight Saga fully stocked ;) I hope you are as smitten as I am!

I loved hearing all their songs. I had first seen them on the car commercial and had wondered if they were a real band. Too awesome!

I love Pomplamoose!
I about died when I heard them on the car commercials. I heard before I saw, so when I looked up my mouth honestly just fell right open. I was amused and excited.
