OOTD: No Diet Talk

This is my favorite shirt! It is not terribly fashionable but I always feel comfortable and together in it. I bought it years ago at Fred Meyers (grocery/superstore) in the Jr. Plus section and it is starting to show my love. I believe there are a couple curry stains and few rips but I still love it and wore it yesterday.

jeggings : fashion bug
top : fred meyers
cardigan : torrid

I titled this post "No Diet Talk" because I am declaring my blog diet-talk free! Not that it has been a problem but I see my blog as my little home online and my house = my rules. Natalie from Definatalie created a wonderful badge for everyone to add to their blogs. I believe with all my heart that dieting is not a healthy choice. This may not be the popular opinion but studies show that it is true. I have made the choice to accept my size and appreciate it rather than changing it. So I have added the "No Diet Talk" badge to my sidebar.

I could use the badge at all times. The workplace is especially a haven for such talk. One day, a coworker complimented me on losing weight and asked how I did it. Then the discussion of my vegetarianism came up. I, in fact, hadn't lost a significant amount of weight nor was I trying. I told her this but graciously accepted her compliment and just said I think my shape has changed since I have become vegetarian. But before I could explain that I wasn't dieting, not depriving myself of anything and practicing intuitive eating, the conversation began at the breakroom table about the newest fad diet and how much they all hated their bodies. In a world obsessed with making their women smaller, I am confidently 5'9" and 300 pounds!

I love your top. I have a few I seem to favor. I love empire/high-waisted top and leggings. I wear them with my ankle boots all the time. I am all for comfortable, I tell ya. Oh, since we are admitting weight...LOL! I am publicly declaring that I am 5'2" and 175 pounds. I wear a size 16/18 dress size. Weeee...that was terribly freeing. :-) Thanks for inspiring!

Another awesome outfit - I love those colours on you!

I think you'll know from my recent email how much appreciate your attitude, posts & pictures on this subject, and how much it has meant to me personally.

Basically, you rock!

Your outfit is GORGEOUS!!! I love that sweater. I have plenty of clothing that is showing my love.

As for dieting talk, I don't like when people naysay their bodies. However, I know that some people truly are anorexic, or have had anorexia and therefore it's branded into their minds. So I try and help them. As for myself? I don't believe in dieting. I believe in healthy eating and self control. I'm 5'4" and 185lbs. I love sweets, soda, and other "unhealthy" foods. Do I stop eating them? No. Do I also eat healthy and exercise? Yes!

I want to lose weight simply because my body is in discomfort. This simply isn't the weight for me. Do I still think I look beautiful? Yes. Do I still think anyone, from 100lbs to 500lbs can be beautiful? Yes! I think people should forgo ___lbs all together and simply live healthy, happy lives whether they are short, tall, skinny, fit, chunky or "overweight." Being healthy and FEELING healthy, is what SHOULD matter and one should always... ALWAYS consider themselves beautiful.

I'm confident in my body, but I'm not so healthy right now. So recently we've made the effort to be more healthy. I don't even want to lose any weight, I just want to not be sick so often. Love the badge!

I love the outfit! The top is cute and frames your chest piece nicely. I used to have a top from F21 like that but I grew out of it. I love the badge too!

I love your top. It's a bit funky and exciting!

Unlike diet talk which is just boring and repetitive. Getting excited over fitting into size 10 jeans is just embarrassing.

Empire waist! Sometimes I shop in the maternity section because I like the way it looks so much. I am really long waisted too and I like long shirts. Thank you dear!

Yep, we still have one! Plus on one side and petite on the other. They are owned by Lane Bryant and a great cheaper option. I don't see a lot of them around either!

Love the No Diet Talk rule--I just hope you will still post yummy veggie recipes. Pretty sure going veg five years ago didn't change my shape much, but it absolutely made me fall in love with fresh food.

Rachele said...

Yes, I will still post veggie recipes! I certainly have no problem talking about food :)

I think that since being vegetarian I look less bloaty in certain areas. It just agrees with me I guess!
