Nobody Forces Me To But...

I have been a daily blogger since August 26th of last year (with maybe a few days missed) and I think I am feeling a little taxed by it finally. I work full-time in a job that can be draining, mentally and emotionally. Blogging has been a great way for me to enjoy my creative life outside of work but has become a 2nd job in certain aspects. I suppose every blogger goes through it and feels like they need a break or hiatus. I certainly don't want to stop blogging but am thinking about taking a breather from daily blogging or at least allowing myself to take a day or two off in the week when I just don't feel like it.

I am lurking in the shadows...

I want to refocus on telling a story of who I am by sharing my every day thoughts and opinions. And when I have pretty photos, share those too! I think I need to let some of the inspiration stew inside of me instead of frantically trying to search for it at 11pm when I really want to be snuggled up in bed with the mister and kitties. I still love blogging and love the community, but just ready for a change of pace. So you might see something different here!

We stocked up on finger food and watched the Oscars tonight. I am usually drawn in at the beginning, but about half way through I am just mildly interested. This may be because I don't watch a lot of new movies. I usually watch Netflix and mostly indie or foreign. So here are the some noteworthy movies I watched last year!

The Octopus Project

On Wednesday night, we went to see a couple bands. First, we saw The Octopus Project. I hadn't heard of them before and really liked their live performance. It is mostly instrumental but very dancy and unique. And I swear Yvonne from the band has had the same haircut since 1999.

She did an amazing job on the theremin.

Man...or Astroman? headlined the show and was the reason the mister bought tickets.

The Doug Fir is such a pretty venue. It is all lit floor, cabin logs, wood paneling and sleek 60's style.

We don't go to shows very often anymore so it was sort of a treat. 

Looking at these pictures, I think I need to trim my hair in the back so it looks more like an angled bob. It just looks like a crazy shag mess!

Isn't she just colorful and wonderful?!?! And it looks like she is from Oregon. I found her on this blog, "Pictures of Amelia" which is dedicated to exactly that.

Rest of Monday

Mmmm...brunch was yummy on Monday! I had a hungarian mushroom omelet.

Then we went to the park to enjoy more of the nice weather and walk around.

Trees, trees and more trees!

The pond at the park is being fixed. They relocated the turtles and wildlife and are removing the sediment that has made it too shallow.

Then we went thrifting. I found a tea kettle with mushrooms on it. Sadly, it is rusted inside but it still looks pretty on the stove. Too bad it was taped shut or I would have checked before I bought it. 

Then, we went home to watch movies and eat pizza. (This is my new favorite pizza.)

And that was last weekend!

OOTD: Monday Brunch

Monday was like our Sunday. We spent the day off together. Went to brunch and just had a relaxing long weekend. This is what I wore. It was a beautiful and sunny day!
