Last week, we celebrated the mister's 30th birthday by going on a little bowling date, just me and him. We went to the local bowling alley that seems to remain unchanged by the outside modern world. It is one of our favorite places to go when we want to go out and have fun. It is where we celebrated my birthday too!
I am a horrible bowler but we have a lot of fun goofing around and drinking beers and eating pizza. They have a dedicated phone line to the pizza place next door. All you have to do is pick it up, order and some of the most delicious pizza is delivered straight to your lane!
Since it was the mister's birthday, we went to the nickel arcade afterwards. Here he is with his winning bounty!
Then we went home and ate cherry pie, yum! Some birthdays we have parties but most of the time it is just me and him. We sort of love it that way!

I love this! I love that I'm not the only one that doesn't make a birthday into a HUGE knock down drag out event. This looks like such a great time! And that cardigan is so so adorable! You guys are such a cute pair. Darn it...now I wanna go to a nickel arcade! PS - I'm the worst bowler alive! Oh and your bowling ball looks like a pumpkin...at first glance that's what I thought it was! :p

hehe at first glance i totally thought you were holding a pumpkin even though i knew you were bowling. lady you look amazing! i want this outfit for myself! the cardigan is perfect and i love it with the green striped shirt. you look like a retro bowling pinup girl! love it. bowling is so much fun and such a great date. now that it is winter i think we are gonna try roller skating more since we need to use our skates we bought over the summer!

Quiet birthdays are my favorite. Bigger parties can be fun, but sometimes it is just nice to relax and celebrate the day with the ones you love. I also tend to stress out with bigger events....

Haha that is so funny that you guys think that! A pumpkin... Anywho, thanks for the sweet compliments! I felt dressed perfectly for the occassion. We rollerskated a bit a couple years ago but I get so nervous that I am going to fall and hurt myself that I suck. I used to be like a speed skater before I got old and fearful haha.

Haha, everyone thinks I have a pumpkin! So funny! We are pretty low-key about most holidays. People ask "What did you do for ?" and usually the answer is stayed home with the cats and watched movies.
