OOTD: The Blogger Dress

I went to a blogger meet on Friday and it was the perfect opportunity to try out this sweet little dress. I think they should rename it "the blogger dress"! It is very cute and comfortable. Thank goodness it was light weight because apparently a room full of bloggers with phones, beer and wine can make a room very warm! I had a great time, but more on that later. I am waiting for some of the fancy schmancy photographer photos to be posted before I blog about it. But this is what I was wearing!

peter pan collar sleeveless dress : c/o simply be
cardigan : thrifted
leggings : we love colors
headscarf : thrifted
flats : grocery outlet
glasses : coastal

This is my first Peter Pan collar dress and loooong overdue. I always admire and love the style but it seems to be hard to find in plus sizes, or at least not as readily available. Since most of the clothes I buy are thrifted I don't specifically purchase styles very often. But this dress reminds me that I should! I don't want to miss out on something I really like! Maybe just an every-one-in-a-while treat because I still enjoy being cheap and thrifty.

I definitely love the dress! I noticed that I can pull it down, like in the photos. Or I can pull up the tie in the back a little and fluff out the top so that it makes the dress shorter or perhaps wear it with a belt. I also chose this dress in size 28 (UK).

P.S. I think those might be spots on my lens and not spots on the dress in the first couple photos! Woops! I took these photos after the event and probably got splashed with beer and food. It is common courtesy to clean your lens! (Seinfeld reference)

That looks gorgeous! And comfy too, which is a plus if you're busy and in a warm room. Hope you had fun at the blogger meet. I have only ever been to one and was very nervous but I think bloggers have a very similar mentality as I got on with everyone really well! Jen x

Hi! I just found your site from a friend at Well and Cheaply (Sarah and I grew up together) when she posted the portrait you drew for her (I will probably be purchasing one soon...love it.) Anyhow, I am new to blogging and finally starting to spend some time finding some great sites to follow and inspiration to help me get my own out there- I love your stlye and am a fellow "fatshionista," if you will (isn't Torrid the best?) Really looking forward to checking out all the great stuff you have on here.

Hey there fellow Oregonian! You should know me! I am, like, the most popular girl in town ;) Actually I live in Clackamas and don't wander around PDX too often. If you see me though...you must say hi! People never say hi and it bums me out. Thanks for visiting my bloggy blog!

Welcome to the blogosphere! I hope you enjoy blogging and let me know if you have any questions. I would like to point out the exits and bathrooms, should you need them. JK! Can't wait to draw your pretty face someday! <3

Thank you! I am already wearing a hole in it :( Well, actually there is a hole in it but I am in denial.

Thanks! It was my first one but I guess there are lots more in the area. I think once you find one you can get in on the network and secret meetups.

Thank you dear :)

Oh my goodness, I was so nervous. But I think you are right. Everyone else feels that way. We played a couple games that forced us to socialize. Otherwise I may have sat in my seat the whole time.

Rachele said...

Yes! I am part of the party! I need more now.

Thank you! They clothes aren't super fancy but I like that about it. I much prefer thinner more comfortable fabric anways.

Thanks!

I bet they have a million in SF! They seem to be very hush hush but then once you go to one, you'll hear about all the other ones!

Thank you dear!
