OOTD: Summer Uniform

I was going to talk about my underwear and chub rub but it felt a little repetitive and boring. Blah, blah, blah, hot summer and bare legs. Yada, yada, yada and now there is a world of skirts and dresses open to me. It is pretty exciting for me to go legging-free this summer but I don't know how interested anybody else is about it! Anyway, if this could be my uniform this summer, I would be happy.

skirt : torrid
shirt : target
cardigan : torrid
jellies : fred meyer
headscarf : thrifted
glasses : coastal
owl brooch : made by me

I have been trying to write a little bit here and there for my book. I am trying not to over-do it right away and burn out, like I tend to do when I start a project. I am focusing on my introduction and outlining the things I want to talk about. I really think this could happen now!

P.S. I updated my commenting system and would love to know if it is working okay on your end. Let me know if you have any issues!

I love the hair/cardi/shoe color combo -- cherry, lime & aqua is my favorite color trio. Here's the best post I ever read about chub rub, by Lilli of Frocks & Frou Frou. Thanks to her I found Luvees and Thigh Society, which are my summer lifesavers under dresses and skirts.

Yeah for a good chub-rub cure! I desperately need to invest in a decent cure, these look great...but I had a few questions...
Do they make the awkward "swish swish swish" noise from the fabric rubbing together? like wearing snow pants?
And how often do you need to wash them?

Ah, that brooch is amazing! I have to admit, that was the first thing I noticed, I collect owls, so I always get a little excited when I see you've updated, if just for your layout alone.

I love my spanx for the chub rub reason. So useful, if expensive. I think I'll go put on a summer dress right now!

Oh chub rub is the bane of my life! Nothing like wearing tights all through summer!

Chub rub is the worst. I was wearing a pair of cut off tights today and they kept rolling up. I need to get some bike shorts.

I luuurve that green cardi with your red hair!! Looks fab!

Thanks! It is a really old cardigan that I cut up :D

I've tried that before and it didn't work so well :( They just kept wanting to roll up on me too. I need some bike shorts too. These look good - http://www.thighsociety.ca/

I put it off for years and told myself I was going to wear dresses this summer! I haven't noticed any noises. They are layered, like a bathing suit. They have a nude lining type thing. I figure I will wash them every few times I wear them...depending on how hot it is lol

Rachele said...

Thanks! I will have to get a pair of those shorts! I wasn't sure where on earth to find them in the right size.

I put deodorant all over my inner thigh. It's a dream for chub rub. I rarely have to re-apply but I keep it with me for a mid-afternoon touch up if I need it.

I love the green with the gray! Thanks for "Keeping it Real". I am working on my size link up...I have to share something about saving yourself from chub-rub. Petty pants...our grandmothers wore them and I swear by them. I buy them on amazon (long and short). Most of the year I live in Indonesia...sweat city! I am bringing a stack back for some of the other teachers. Check it out..

I'm totally interested in defeating chub rub - I've always had bigger thighs than the rest of me, and no matter what size I've been it's always been a problem. This outfit is really cute, I love it all (but especially the perler bead owl brooch).

I know what you are talking about! I used to have a pair. They are so pretty.
