Thrifted Finds & Movie Date

We have been frequenting the thrift shops a lot lately! These are some of the things I came home with and some of the things I left at the store. I got an adorable cat tin, woodgrain clipboards for hanging prints, cat notepad, shorts, 2 tops, plastic plates and floral printed dish towel.

I also got a French record and summer shoes. They are the orange ones in the bottom right of the photo below. The thrift store had a shelf full of brand new Target shoes. I went into actual Target the other day and I could not find anything! I couldn't find a purse, shoes or an iPad case that I was looking for. I recently broke a purse and threw away some shoes and needed a replacement. Then I went to Goodwill and found everything I needed, except for the iPad case. Lucky me!

These are the things that didn't go home with me. I really wanted the icee machine but it was missing an important part. Too bad! I have been dreaming of icy treats.

One of my favorite things to look for is records. I like French, 70's, 60's and musicals. I like the covers on these but passed on them because the record was too damaged or the music wasn't my taste.

I have been eyeing this huge Barbra Streisand framed drawing and just couldn't figure out a place to put it in our teeny house. I really loved it though and I sort of regret not getting it!

I always check for quirky brooches but rarely find one.

Some other pretty things to look at, but didn't buy.

Lol! Sometimes the owl figures are cheesy, dressed up in graduate hats. But this one was kind of cute. I left him for another owl collector.

We decided to then catch a screening of Logan's Run at the beer theater.

Our thrift store has new candy too. Definitely a bonus!

We had a fun evening, munching on popcorn and pizza while laughing at some of the finer scenes in Logan's Run.

That was a solid haul from the Goodwill. Holy man. I haven't had such a successful thrift shop in a while. (Although the bf dropped $200 on himself at Value Village last time we were there. Since then, he's literally worn a new-to-him shirt every day.... and I'm super jealous! Mama needs some new clothes!)

I feel ya! Sometimes I go months without finding anything. Then it's like the flood gates open!
Holy crap! $200! He better be set for life ;)

I have those same shoes from Target :) I think I would have had a hard time resisting that Barbra Streisand drawing... it would be great in a chunky old frame painted green?! Looks like you have an awesome thrift store.

Wowza! Your thrift shops are prime for the picking! It's rare to find much here. I'm on my phone so I couldn't really see the cat item that you passed on... I couldn't tell what exactly it was besides a fluffy orange cat! At least you have the willpower to pass on cat related items! That movie theater looks so neat!! What a great day you guys had!

Your thrift store seems x10 cooler than ours.

That looks like the biggest shop in the world! Our equivalents are nothing like that at all.

My boyfriend and I went to Portland for the first time in May and our night at that theater drinking pitchers of PBR and watching "Casa de mi Padre" was one of our favorite parts of the trip! Every city should have a beer theater.

I wasn't sure if it is music I would enjoy but the cover is heavenly.

Rachele said...

That's what we do! A pitcher of PBR. I think most movies should be seen with a buzz.

Rachele said...

I know! I am really kicking myself for not buying it.
