I've talked about it before but I can't advocate enough! If you are fat, there is no reason why you should think a pixie haircut is out of the question for you. I have seen the most kick ass short hairdos on the ladies with junk in their trunk. But for some reason, it is a widely common opinion that short hair is for thin women only. I have read in magazines that you should wear your hair long if you are curvy. Seriously!?! That is a load of crap. Those rules were written to make woman feel insecure about themselves and spend more money on weight loss and beauty products. There should be only one fashion rule. And that is there are no rules.

I love, love having a pixie haircut. It, ironically, makes me feel more feminine and put-together. I have cut my hair short since I was 16 and it feels like a weight of my shoulders whenever I go back. I have had long hair. My hair was down to my butt when I was a kid and I let it grow out my senior year in high school. Personally, having my hair short makes me feel more beautiful. I have also cut the time my morning routine takes in half. Changing hair colors is easy, I use less hair products and hot water in the shower, I get less migraines from my hair being pulled back too tight or from the weight of my hair, etc, etc! There are so many positives!
If you are thinking about cutting your hair, I would recommend using Mia Farrow and Jean Seberg as fashion inspirations. They are petite but their style and cut is classic. I try to stick with a more 60's French look that is more sleek and less 90's housewife. If you are not into cutting your own hair like me, take in lots of photos of the exact haircut that you want. Try to bring in different angles. I have a pinterest board for some of my favorite hair styles. Make sure your hairdresser has experience cutting and styling short hair. You will also need to learn how to style short hair. I only comb my hair when it is wet and then use my fingers and hairspray to dry and style. I also use a round brush when blowdrying the back and top and sometimes tease the crown a little. I keep the sides flat. But of course all types of hair are different and you will have to find what works for you!
Pixie haircut for life!
