Fat Fancy is one of my favorite places on the planet. Where else can you buy a dress, possibly run into Beth Ditto and support a fat, feminist, queer business? Not many places that I know of. It isn't just the wonderful owners or customers that draw me in. They always have a range of plus size vintage and modern clothing for all genders that makes me drool. There is also an ally rack filled up for our smaller sized friends in case you want to join the fun and munch on cookies while admiring their Little Miss Piggy collection. I have been shopping at Fat Fancy since their basement days. They have been a crucial part of my fat acceptance journey, being a place that I can shop comfortably. I always leave smiling. Plus they occasionally host fat friendly events. I wish every city had one!
One of the beautiful owners, Annie.
I ended up getting the dress above and below.
Lots of handmade and local accessories to choose from.
Diva alert!
This was our first stop and we all acted like kids in a candy store.
Miss Shawna and her Good Stuff Only hairbow.
Fat solidarity!
Two more stores to go...

I love the dress the dresses that you got especially the minty one.
I love it (and that mint dress looks stunning on you). I so need to make it there on my next portland trip...thanks for mentioning it! I did go to their shop once when they were in a basement and got some amazing finds....time to go back!
I've only been to Portland once but Fat Fancy is a big part of why I'd like to eventually move there. When I went into Fat Fancy 2 years ago, I couldn't even process exactly how awesome it was. I was excited to have an opportunity to find a vintage dress that fit me, but as soon as I walked in I was in heaven. Right in front of me was a glorious Leslie Hall T-shirt! After looking around for two seconds, I realized I was among like-minded feminists, and found a great handmade necklace pendant that reads, "Start a revolution. Love your body." It was as though all of my favorite things were in one place. I ended up talking to Annie for about a half hour before I even looked at any more clothing. It's such a beautiful and welcoming place. I can't wait to live near enough to join one of their dance parties!
What a gorgeous shop! If only it wasn't such a rare occurance to see stores like that. I don't quite make the plus size category but I'd totally go in there just to look at how pretty it all is! <3

I wish I lived near a place like this! I'm usually too big for straight sizes & too small for plus sizes, so I try to check out clothes in both & just figure out what fits. So many gems in here!
THAT DRESS IS PERFECT ON YOU>
You had me at vintage... <3 That place looks like a blast and what a fun environment to shop in. The dress is so you!
What a fantastic idea! I wish there was something like this in England!
