That last one is so true.. also reminds me of the worst thing in the world when a stranger (usually an older man) says 'cheer up love, it might never happen'--what if it's ALREADY happened, jerk!
I need that "Stop Telling Women To Smile" poster in my life. I want to punch men that say that to me!! If they weren't completely self absorbed idiots they might realize that 1) I am not always happy or in the mood to show my teeth. 2) I am not on Earth to amuse or please every cotton picking man that crosses my path or to make him feel comfortable. 3) If you smile at every freaking man you come in contact with (unfortunately) many of them will see it as an advance or invitation of some sort. I hate street harassment. I always have the face of stone when there are a lot of men about and I am alone. No smiles, no eye contact. A sad defense mechanism. Its no good that a lot of men don't understand it when I talk with them about it either. As women we have to operate differently to protect ourselves.
UGH such a girl crush on Beth. Her hair, her eyes, her thighs, just HER. She's wonderful. Oh, and I'm also trying to branch out with my colours a little lately, have you seen Lime Crime's lipsticks? So many colours... so hard to resist! I just need to up the bravery stakes.
Holy crap, I love those lipsticks. Even if I were to never ever wear them, I'd love to put them around my house or even find them in my bag. That would make my day so much more cheerful. And I love love LOVE your new blog redesign. You're such a talented lady!!! XO Samantha
