Don't get me wrong. I don't hate Instagram. I was actually very excited when it came to Android! But now, the honeymoon is over. I am just tired of those crappy quality square photos. I have been taking photos on an Android phone and posting them for years. At one point, I had a Posterous account and I really liked that. I like being able to post different sizes and effects. I have apps that can take fisheye photos, collages, etc. And they aren't all in a square format. Plus, my most recent phone upgrade moved me up to a 8 megapixel camera and I want to take advantage of it! I noticed that photos that looked really nice on my phone would look really pixelated or grainy on Instagram and then the high quality image would just sit on my phone to never be seen again. Sad! I am still posting photos from my phone while I am out and about, just like Instagram. You will just find me somewhere different now. I am also looking forward to sharing my favorites here each week still. But now they will take up a little more of the screen and satisfy my inner geek.

Oh how fun! I just got an iPod touch recently and still am in the honeymoon phase with Instagram but I'm totes already finding myself playing with the regular camera more often because I can take a ton in a short amount of time. Yeppers, have a good day!

You know... You've got a really good point. Instagram does make my photos crappy. Now I must contemplate following your lead... Hmm...
There's a time and place for instagram. I spose you gotta have the right photos, ones that you actually want to turn into those little square pics.
why don't you just take analog? i haven't stopped. i'm afraid instagram is going to make lomography extinct =(
