OOTD: Fuck Dainty

Wearing ankle high Doc Marten style boots used to be impossible for me. Impossible because somehow it would make me look more fat. Or not feminine enough. Or draw attention to the lower half of my body. Like I was using flats to create an illusion. Flats made me feel dainty and less tall and gigantic. Fuck dainty. I want to kick down doors with my boots and smash the patriarchy with my heels.

I love combat boots, and I love this outfit. Flats are nice, sometimes, but there's just something that kind of fantastic about big, clunky, battle-ready boots!

Word! I still love my flats.

LOVE this! I used to have similar compunctions about moto boots for the same reasons, and now I wear them ALL THE TIME because I love them, they make me feel badass, and looking as small as possible is not going to be my style goal anymore.

Kick those doors in! I wish wish wish my docs did not hurt so bad...I have bone spurs and plantar fasciitis...I guess they are just too hard. And they are so rad: with union jack.
When I was in middle school I greatly admired a girl who had just come from Germany, she wore docs or pink converse, red lipstick, and had spiky hair shaved on the side....I wasnt cool enough for us to stay friends long, too goody goody geek, but I always think of her and the impression she made on me...I think you remind me of her a bit with this look. Rock on!

And you look babely in them! I love how you mix your dresses and boots.

Bummer! Mine definitely need to be broken in but I hope they get better. I wish all shoes were just comfortable for everybody.

I was googling discussions about Forever21 plus sizes, and I came across your page. Super glad I did! Subscribing after I'm done babbling. You're gorgeous! Also, I feel compelled to mention the German Shepherd painting in the background. It caught my eye because it looks a lot like the one in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Random, I know. :)

Fuck dainty forever! Totally familiar with where you're coming from. These days if I don't wear mah big boots I can't even. I'm 6'2, and still I spent way too much of my life trying to make myself smaller. Embrace the tall, embrace the gigantic, and, most importantly, enjoy the power of being bigger and scarier than the people who hate on you :D You look amazing and powerful, omg.
